I shoot film for many reasons, the cameras, the way it slows me down, the little adrenaline rush I get when pulling a roll or sheet out of the fixer for the first look, but the biggest part of my love affair with film is my tendency to screw it up. I took this 4x5 shot of Death Valley and, when mixing the powdered D76 developer, was impatient and didn’t wait for the crystals to completely dissolve. These crystals slid slowly down the sheet during development and added star trails in the black sky of an already otherworldly place. VSCO makes a lot of filters but I'll bet you 7$ they don't make one called developingwithimpatientphotogandtequila.
